Hydraulic fracturing is a process that uses pressure to create new or existing cracks in rock structures for the production of oil and gas. Since the first hydraulic fracturing test in the United States in 1947, hydraulic fracturing has a history of more than 70 years.
Fracturing operations require the transportation of large amounts of water. At the well site, in order to meet the large water demand of fracturing operations, water is usually stored in nearby large-capacity portable steel tanks or water storage ponds. In most cases, the water source is several kilometers or even dozens of kilometers away from the well site. The use of large-diameter flat hoses can achieve an economical and efficient long-distance water supply solution.

The fracturing water injected by remote water supply is all clean water. Oil companies in various countries will choose different materials according to different environments. Desert hot areas tend to choose high-temperature resistant Longman series nitrile rubber flat hoses, with regular sizes ranging from 6 inches to 12 inches; other areas will choose more wear-resistant Mileflex series polyurethane flat hoses, with regular sizes ranging from 10 inches to 16 inches in plain areas; mountainous or hilly areas will choose more high-pressure resistant 6-inch to 8-inch hoses because the hoses need to climb. In order to maintain the continuity of pressure, booster pumps are also required to maintain pressure during ultra-long-distance transportation.
The recovered fracturing water has a certain degree of corrosiveness due to the addition of various chemical additives. Usually, more corrosion-resistant Backflex polyethylene flat hoses and Longman nitrile rubber flat hoses are selected, with sizes ranging from 3 inches to 6 inches.
